Herman Upmann was a German banker who loved Cuban cigars so much that he moved to Havana in 1844. There, in addition to banking, he also started dealing in cigars. H. Upmann cigar boxes are adorned with 11 gold medals he won at international exhibitions during the 19th century, along with his signature. The first third of this cigar is incredibly sweet and creamy on the palate, with strong flavors of caramel and almond, followed by notes of earth, cedar and a mild floral aroma. A cigar that is not uniform, with a beautiful white smoke.
